Stephen Yiembe

Stephen Yiembe is a distinguished Kenyan assistant referee making waves on the global football stage. Born in 1989 in Nakuru, he earned his FIFA badge in 2018 and has since officiated at major tournaments, including the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and its U‑23 final, as well as the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In 2025, Yiembe’s reputation soared: he served as second assistant in the CAF Champions League final between Pyramids FC and Mamelodi Sundowns, earning widespread praise for a flawless performance. Later that year, he broke new ground as the sole East African assistant referee selected for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, among only 58 assistants chosen worldwide.
