Beatrice Chebet

Beatrice Chebet is a world-class long-distance runner from Kenya, widely regarded as one of the greatest of her generation. Born in 2000 in Kericho, she has become a dominant force in athletics with record-breaking performances on both track and road. In 2024, she won Olympic gold in both the 5,000 m and 10,000 m in Paris, becoming only the third woman in history to complete that double. Earlier that year, she broke the 10,000 m world record with a time of 28:54.14 at the Prefontaine Classic. On December 31, she made history again by becoming the first woman to run a sub-14-minute 5 km (13:54) on any surface in Barcelona. Chebet currently holds world records in the women-only and mixed 5 km, as well as the 10,000 m, and leads global rankings in all three disciplines: 5,000 m, 10,000 m, and cross-country.
